About Spellbound Architects
Spellbound Architects is a Crested Butte Architecture Firm built around this valley, and the homes that belong in it.
Who We Are
A Crested Butte Architecture Firm, Because This Is Home
Spellbound Architects is a boutique luxury residential architecture firm based in Crested Butte, Colorado, built around a partnership between Daniel Rosenberg, licensed architect and principal, and Jessica Rosenberg, who leads the business and client experience.
We wanted to design custom mountain homes that feel like they’ve always belonged here.
Our Founders
Daniel is the one you’ll find walking a site before any design work begins, getting a feel for the slope, the light, the way the wind moves through a lot, and the details that only reveal themselves in person.
Jessica takes care of everything else: the schedule, the budget, the day-to-day experience of working with us, so that Daniel’s attention can stay where it matters most.
It’s a natural division that reflects how we actually work together. One of us is focused entirely on the architecture. The other is dedicated to making the design process feel organized, personal, and well cared for from the first conversation through construction.
What We Believe About Mountain Homes
We think a home should feel like it grew out of its site, not like it was dropped onto it.
That means slowing down at the start of every project and really understanding the land, the light, and how you want to live before any lines get drawn. It also means treating “mountain modern” as more than a look: at this elevation, good design has to work as hard as it looks beautiful.
Why Crested Butte
This town shaped the way we practice architecture.
Building custom homes in Crested Butte means designing for real winters, a short construction season, dramatic mountain weather, and one of the most remarkable landscapes in Colorado. Every project demands thoughtful planning, careful collaboration, and a deep respect for the land.
We wouldn’t want to practice anywhere else. It’s part of what makes the work so meaningful.
We keep our project list intentionally small because we want to be genuinely present for every home we design.
When you work with Spellbound Architects, you’ll work directly with us throughout the life of your project, not a rotating team. That personal relationship allows us to better understand your goals, communicate clearly, and remain closely involved from the first site visit through construction. We believe exceptional homes come from thoughtful collaboration, and exceptional client experiences come from being available when it matters most.
