A Gunnison Valley Architect Works Across a Wider Range of Sites
Lower-elevation valley sites often mean milder winters, different solar orientation opportunities, and more flexibility in massing and glazing than the highest-alpine parcels allow.
That doesn’t make the design work any less rigorous. It changes the questions. Water, wind exposure across open valley terrain, and long sightlines toward the surrounding peaks all become central to how a home is sited and organized.
The valley takes in Gunnison, Almont, Pitkin, and the smaller communities along the river corridor, each with its own terrain, access, and building conditions.
